Slice of Life #28 - Sister's Sweet Sixteenth

Scrawny arms and legs, you would think she was 13.
Her hunched figure literally makes her seem 4 inches shorter.
An innocent child face still on her head and covered in long straight brown hair.
The little scars on her cheek from a falling incident still remain on her since 10 years ago.
A baggy shirt and shorts would be what she wears daily.
She cracks up at her own jokes and watches morning cartoons.
Yet she's sitting in front 4 cupcakes with a candle shoved in one and chuckles as we screech the infamous tune of happy birthday.

Slice of Life #26 - Flood Relief/ Pops Recital Choir

After the bell rang, signalling the end of school, I rushed to my locker and quickly grabbed my bag filled with clothing, hairbrushes and other necessities to get ready. Scanning the dark hallway, I tried to look for someone else that was in the pops recital with me.

The pops recital is where the grade 6, 7 and 8th choirs gather and sing songs under the genre of pop. There are about 8 other performances besides the songs where either the 6th grade choir is singing together or 7th and 8th graders that are either solos, duets, trio or quartet. I had a trio with my friends Maddy and Kayla where were singing 'Impossible' by Shontelle.

We've been preparing for weeks after weeks for the pops recital yet we still felt shaky. Looking at each other before we went on stage after the jaw dropping performance by Anna Diefendorf, we knew that even if we didn't do as good as we expected all the practices that were filled with arguments, laughing, serious conversations and singing would still be worth it.

With clammy hands I step on stage after the two and put my lips near the mic.

"I'm Maddy."
"I'm Kayla."
"I'm Scarlett."
"And we're going to be singing Impossible by Shontelle- acapella."
"I remember years ago..."

Slice of Life #25 - Teen Bucketlist

Bucket list: a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish                           during their lifetime

Those who have a bucket list is usually for the reason that they want to push themselves to accomplish adventurous things or maybe things that they would like to try one day. I have a bucket list but instead of having a life time to accomplish it, I have the age of 13- 19 to complete everything on my list.

My Bucket List:

 >>  go skydiving

 >>  write a book

 >>  go backpacking around Europe

>>  road trip

>>  be in a play

>>  build a snowman

>>  set foot on all 7 continents

>>  start a youtube channel

>> sleep under the stars

>>  learn to drive

>>  jump off a cliff and into the ocean

>>  eat extremely healthy for at least a week

>>  scuba diving

>>  build an epic fort

>>  throw a dart at a map and travel to where it lands

Slice of Life #24 - Hot Beverages

From steaming cups of hot chocolate to warm water, they fill my stomach and make me feel cozy. They're a mandatory part of my morning and night. With various shaped mugs in one shelf and tea bags and containers in another. The hot liquid soothes me down and keeps my mind distracted. Even in the heat of Malaysia, it doesn't melt me down. Hot beverages are a part of my daily routine and I'll continue to drink them and never getting sick of it. How can you get sick of it? Hot beverages isn't that specific of a drink. There are over hundreds of teas,
dozens of coffee
and millions of other beverages
made to be mixed with warm water.
